Unconditional

There was once a bird who fell in love with a tree..
and she knew that the tree was different from her..
little did she know..
the tree loved her back..



and as they confessed their love for one another under the night's sky..
and so it was.. and forever--
they promised.



The tree loved the bird so.. and protected her from the storms.
Protected her and was with her in times of happiness and pain..



And so the days went by rather quickly..
Both still happy about the love they found..
but at the same time.. as those days passed..
the little bird's heart grew weary...



For no matter how much she loved the tree..
she could never feel that she has done much for her beloved...



So she flew away.. and fled.



The never-ending sunshine..



... turned to rain.
Until the waters swallowed up most of the tree..



The little bird.. frightened, came back.
To where that young tree was.



The tree, overjoyed.. gave up it's branches..
and stretched it a bit further.. just to let the little bird rest..
And when the end came near for the tree..
As it breathed it's last.. the tree again told the bird..
The love it had within..
and passed away..



.. the little bird decided..
to live on with her life..
and continued to live..



For it was what her beloved tree.. died protecting..



And realized, that with love..




It never really mattered to the tree how much she gave back.
